That bit about never forgetting...

Yesterday I rolled out of bed, threw clothes on, spent 8 hours standing in front of a saw wondering the whole time if we'd bombed Syria, had lunch in the car, rolled home, showered, threw clothes on, went to school, got home an hour past my bedtime, and, finally, went to bed. 

The one time I wasn't "doing" but was simply "being" was when I decided to have dinner at my favorite little Vietnamese bistro by school.   I was noshing on my vermicelli with tuong ot toi when all of a sudden "Shotgun Tom" Kellyyyyyyyy's voice came over the radio and said, "September 11th.  Twelve years.  We will never forget."

Um...in the words of Tonto: "Whaddya mean we, white man?"  (I'm a bad patriot.)

The ACA is why I have health insurance today

BUT
I am quite upset that the Supreme Court upheld the part that said it is mandatory for Americans to purchase health care.  The entire ACA wasn't bad; that part was.

Unto Ceasar

I made less than $3,000 last year, and, consequently, got a small refund at tax time.  My friend made over $50,000 and had to pay out, "even though I've already paid $3,000 in taxes for 2010!"  My comment was that if she paid as much in taxes as I made then she must be doing pretty okay for herself.  I hope I still have this perspective when I'm in her shoes.

Recently an elderly woman informed my mother that the increase in homosexual women was due to women wearing jeans.

If that's the case, wonder what the appearance of jeggings will do to our society.

Politics

have taken on the sensationalism of Hollywood romances. Clinton, Edwards, Palin...to name a few. I wish politics were politics and Hollywood was Hollywood and we knew how to keep the two separate.
